Updates
Dr. Paolicchi has decided to bring in the infectious disease team to try to figure out why Lettie keeps having these fevers. They will be here tomorrow we think. The MRI went great and Lettie didn't have to be sedated. In fact she didn't even need the Ativan! She was kind of "out of it" with the Topamax and Klonopin. Our neurosurgeon visited late afternoon and said "things just haven't gone as we planned". We are hoping to get Lettie to eat and drink so she can get the NG tube out. When they brought in her dinner tonight we were literally trying to get her to finish her lunch. This new diet is gonna be tough. Its been a long day today. We will continue to pray and expect more than the doctors do.

Dear Brittons...You are such an inspiration to so many of us who are praying for your Lettie and you. Yes, we will continue to uplift your baby to our Father, who holds her in His hands! Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power...(strong...power, Implies that human effort is inadequate but God's power is INVINCIBLE. Praise God for who He is!
ReplyDeleteI think God doesn't want to pull this Miracle off too quickly. If God had just healed Lettie right away after the surgery, everybody would have said, wow those doctors know their stuff. And, God would not have gotten the Praise. But after all this time, and Lettie isn't responding as everyone would have hoped, and the doctors say "things just haven't gone as we planned", people start doubting the doctors. Now when God heals Lettie, the whole world will know she is God's Miracle!
ReplyDeleteThe Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him. -- Lamentations 3:25
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord. -- Psalms 27:14
Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. -- Isaiah 40:31
That's an awesome victory that she didn't have to be sedated for the MRI. Im sorry that the feeding has been so challenging with this new diet. We will continue to pray 'daily bread' scriptures over Lettie. I know it's so hard when the drs are saying one thing.. but the word is the rock of truth for you to stand on. We are all lifting up ya'lls heavy hearts. You certainly don't need my words right now.. so I gathered some of His that will hopefully be life giving and will pray them over you now.
ReplyDeleteIsaiah 26:3-4
"You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal."
-Lord Jesus, I stand in agreement with this verse for Summer and Mark right now. They are trusting you, so deliver the perfect peace to their hearts that you promise in this verse.
Exodus 23:25 "Worship the Lord you God, and his blessing will be on your good and water. I will take away sickness from among you.."
-Yes, Lord.. please deliver your blessing upon Lettie's food. Touch her lips to open and tenderly give her the food she needs, Lord. Deliver her from this sickness Lord Jesus by your power!
2 Cor 10:4-5 "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments ad every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ."
-Jesus, give Summer and Mark the strength they need for the warfare. You are their truth Lord, and no matter what the doctors say, speak your truth into their hearts and SHOW yourself mighty and strong.
Praying your spirits are lifted high tonight and the that the Lord will deliver good news SOON!
I'm so glad they are bringing I.D. in and that the MRI went well. Good news on the move! I knew Dr. Paolicchi would take care of you guys. On the keto diet, I can help you with that and give you ideas since Evan has been on it for awhile now, and also eats stage 2-3 babyfoods + bottle.
ReplyDeleteThe vanc is what Evan is on for the MRSA / meningitis. We only did the cephaime while there at Vandy. Watch for thrush / yeast infection and she may end up with some stomach upset (E is very gassy, crank).
Still praying and several friends of mine who picked up Lettie's story from Evan's caringbridge have added her to their church prayer lists. She has more people praying than you can imagine, and God is definitely at work and with you guys!!
Hopefully you'll be in Atlanta, but if not, we will be there for some visits for Evan next Friday. If you are still there, we'll check on you.
I'm continuing to pray. Please call if you need anything at all!
I don't know you, I stumbled across your blog through a friend of a friend. My family and I are praying for your family daily and I include y'all in random prayers through out the day. Lettie is a beautiful child and I hope that when the time is right, she regains her strength and finds her new normal.
ReplyDeleteStill praying for little Lettie. Praying she begins to eat and drink so the NG tube can be removed. Praying that her infection is healed and her fever goes away. Praying that the left side of her brain will wake up from the sleepy-state, and Lettie's left side of her body also gets back to normal. Doctors are only human and a lot of times they are just making educated guesses when they are stumped about some medical mystery. On the other hand, God is God! He is not stumped about anything. He is there with Lettie watching over her, and He will heal her in His own time. Lettie has tons of people praying for her, and so do you, Summer and Mark. God is hearing all these people crying out to Him, praying for Lettie and your entire family. I pray that you have a quiet and peaceful night tonight and Lettie wakes up tomorrow wanting to eat. Valerie Allen
ReplyDeletePraying for y'all & will continue to. Praying for rest for you & Lettie tonight. Lisa C
