Busy day
Lettie woke up this morning with a 101 fever. She was given tylenol and we are basically just waiting on the antibiotics to "kick-in" and help. So far they are only seeing the urinary tract infection but if bacteria starts to grow in the spinal fluid culture she will mostly be covered by the 2 antibiotics she is currently on and may only require one additional. This morning has basically been non-stop with tests, doctors, therapists, nutrition etc. Dr. Paolicchi wants another MRI at 4 today. We are going to try a dose of Ativan to see if she will sleep enough with that for the MRI, however, if she doesn't Dr. Paolicchi stated they have discussed all the options and sedation will be necessary. This is a bit worrisome because her left side of the brain is still in the "sleepy-state". They thought she was going for the MRI this morning at 11 so they unhooked the EEG. She had not had a bad seizure since being hooked up. She of course had a seizure a couple of hours after being taken off the EEG that was similar to the old ones. It would have been really good to record one of these seizures on the EEG. Though this is very, very frustrating God is giving us all the strength we need to cast aside these doubts/frustrations. Your continued prayers help us through these times so much. We pray that you all are experiencing the Lord's movement in your life!

I am praying for Lettie and your family. The power of prayer is amazing. I read about Lettie on Hutton Johnsons site. Check out our little one on Carepages.com if you wish. The site name is BabyLyons.

You're the Brittons, remember!?! Lol. Why would she not have waited to have a seizure until after being unhooked? She's learned this stuff from her daddy! Anyone reading this probably thinks I'm not having enough faith, but I know you'll get the joke! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe're praying she'll sleep well with the Ativan and won't have to be sedated. Also praying for answers. Rest in His arms, and hang in there!
Love, Juli
Praying that the ativan will be enough to keep her still during the MRI. Darn that seizure coming after the leads were removed. But that is par for the course isn't it? Summer, you really need to invent that fake EEG monitoring hat, then they'll be no more seizures. Hope all goes well. Hugs, Nurse Candi
ReplyDeleteWe will definately NOT stop praying with fervor for sweet Lettie's healing.
ReplyDeleteColossians 4:2 "Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving."
We thank Him every step of the way for the strengthened faith and courage He is giving you and Mark, as well as each progression towards healing Lettie makes. I was so encouraged to see Ms. Nancy's comments about Letties progress. Thats so wonderful to hear. To see the left side moving multiple times... WOW!!!!
When we first found out about my daughter's brain (CT scan @ 5 days old bc it was off the charts small) we knew there would be an MRI at 3 months that would give a bigger picture of what we could expect for her future. We prayed so intensely and believed in Gods power to heal her. The day we received the results from her MRI was the most difficult day of our lives. BUT, God also spoke to us that day that He could choose to heal her, just not in three months. When I think back I see how much glory the Lord has received healing her one milestone at a time over the last year, rather than an instant miraculous healing. Our faith has been forever changed because of that. He continues to bring Himself glory at everything HE calls to be in her, as well as keeping our hearts in a place of complete desperation for Him, His word, His power.. etc. We have to cntinue on a journey of that faith for years, praying everyday for healing milestone by milestone..That wouldnt be the case if he had given her an immediate healing. I can relate so much to what you were saying about slacking off in prayer when things are going well.
When I look at Lettie's situation, I see the world sitting on the edge of their seats, watching and waiting to see what God is going to do. Believers as well as non, deepening their faith in who Christ is and constantly pursuing the throne for Lettie and you all. Every other comment seems to say they check on ya'll morning, noon and night. He is healing her.. but He is getting everyone's attention and allowing the glory to be His every step forward sweet Lettie makes.
We not not lose any intensity in our prayers for your darling girl. Or for you and Mark as you wait and endure. In the moments when the discouragement seems like too much, or you just cant lift the shield against those flaming arrows.. just think of Matthew 19:26.. With God ALL THINGS are possible!" There are no exceptions.. ALL THINGS! We claim healing for Lettie today! Nothing happens without God giving the permission for it to do so. He is in control of every moment even when they seem to be spinning out of control. Im so sorry for the discouragemtn today after being just taken of the EEG. Lord, please lift up Summer and Mark's hearts as the emotions come in waves. The anger, the fear.. all of it Lord, I ask you to carry them through with peace. Lift their eyes to you Jesus and bring your healing power upon sweet Lettie.
Relentless in prayer..
I love you all! B.J.
