Self-removal of NG tube
Well Lettie's doctors told us this morning we could pull her NG if we wanted to but I didn't just in case we needed it for meds. We just started putting all her meds in her food yesterday and I wanted to keep it as a security blanket in case we needed it, but Lettie had other intentions. We sat down for music & OT group this morning and she pulled most of it out herself and started crying, then coughed one good time and out it came. So the tube is gone and let's pray we continue to get her meds in her food so we won't have to replace it ....again. She's done well today so far and got a new vest this morning called a Benix. It's a neoprene vest that we velcro on her. It has aluminum bars along the sides & back to help give her muscles input to improve her sitting balance. I'll post of pic of her later today in it so you can see our new lilac scuba suit, it's actually kind of cute, but can make her really hot so we have to watch her temperature closely. She should be fine unless we go outside in which we would take it off. It stay so cold in the hospital we wear jackets and pants most days so Lettie should be fine. Our case manager told us yesterday we should be here two more weeks, not too bad. Don't guess I should change my license to Georgia just yet, huh?!
